Luxury Ravello Wedding at Villa Cimbrone
Villa Cimbrone, in the small town of Ravello on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, is the most spectacular, enchanting and world renowned location for a luxury Italian wedding reception. The villa is a private 5-star hotel, Hotel Villa Cimbrone, and surrounded by vast, perfectly manicured gardens that are open to the public and visited by thousands each year for their incredible beauty. This Amalfi Coast 5-star villa offers an incredible ‘fairy tale’ setting and has hosted many VIP and celebrity weddings. The famous Terrace of the Infinity is the jewel in the crown. There is no doubt that the view from this terrace ranks as being one of the finest in the world.
Jo and Lee celebrated their sensational Ravello wedding on a warm and sunny October day. Having met at work, seated opposite each other, they were close friends before they started dating. Their first date was at the Tate Modern in London and they walked back over the Millennium bridge after their date. Lee proposed on the same bridge 5 years later on the 22nd October 2015. He organised a long treasure hunt to their favourite and memorable haunts around Brentwood and London, involving tube stations, houses, taxis, flats, restaurants, cars, clues, and bridges! He got down on one knee to John Legend’s famous song “All of me”. It’s ironic that John Legend himself had also performed himself at a VIP wedding at Villa Cimbrone.
They chose Ravello for their Italian dream wedding as they both fell in love with the romance of the Amalfi Coast and having always had a shared passion for travelling and exploring new places.
Jo started her wedding preparations with her bridesmaids sipping champagne and enjoying full pampering from hair stylist Alessandro Mancino and make up artist Zoe Graham, in a glorious suite at nearby Palazzo Avino, one of the most prestigious hotels in Italy, also known as the Pink Palace for it’s rose-hued walls, which enjoys incomparable views over the coast and the Mediterranean sea below.
Guests gathered in the charming Giardini della Principessa di Piemonte (Gardens of the Princess of Piemonte) in the heart of Ravello to witness the happy couple say their ‘I dos’ accompanied by gentle music from a violinist.
Whilst their guests then enjoyed a prosecco reception in the main square Piazza Duomo post ceremony (with musical accompaniment from the guitar and mandolin) Jo and Lee headed to Villa Cimbrone’s charming gardens and grounds before visiting the famous Terrace of Infinity, with their very talented Amalfi Coast photographer Gianni di Natale, resulting in some spectacular wedding photos.
Guests then arrived at the majestic Villa Cimbrone to enjoy an aperitif on the Infinity Terrace, followed by a 5 star wedding banquet in the famous Crypt. Post dinner came the cutting of the beautiful wedding cake and everyone was up on the dance floor to dance the night away to a live swing band, Frank Sinatra style!
